This is a long overdue post since this concert was last Halloween but somehow I got lazy at blogging last year after returning from Japan.
I know I already got to go see Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N Sweet concert during the initial leg of her tour in fall of 2024 but when she announced she was doing another round in 2025, I couldn’t resist. Let’s be real, I’m obsessed with this tiny bitch and its been a while since I had an artist I really enjoyed. I love her aesthetic and she’s just so freaking cute. I love how she radiates confidence and just exuberates star power. She’s so sure of herself and knew she was going to make it, it was just a matter of when. I wish I had that kind of confidence. I also love that she doesn’t stick to one look, but rather has multiple fashion styles and looks she gravitates to, which I relate to a lot. Sometimes, I wish I could stick to one classic look but I just love a little bit of everything. She can cute and retro, or modern and trendy, but always super fun and feminine in so many different forms and she pulls it all off. I love that about her, her eclectic versatility and not willing to be boxed into a certain look.
One of my twin sisters was also super sweet and gifted me and my baby sister the tickets as my birthday present for part 2 of the tour and it was absolutely perfect that the date I was able to score tickets for ended up being Halloween. I was torn between my actual birthday and Halloween, but let’s be real, I would have gone any of the nights for concert war lottery. Halloween was my top date though because I was so jealous the year before when she did Halloween costumes for her Dallas show so I had my fingers crossed I’d win the new outfit lottery as well.
Sabrina’s part 2 of her Short N’ Sweet tour did NOT disappoint. Her week long stay at NYC all week proved it was worth it with at least one new outfit each night and Halloween was no exception. I grew jealous every night she revealed either a new bodysuit or a new Juno 2 piece but ultimately I won because on Halloween we got all 3 new outfits! She curated her bodysuit to a Wonder Woman suit, her second outfit was Barbie’s cowgirl look from the Barbie movie and her third outfit, she cleverly had her 2 piece outfit made as Fred Flintstone. All her costumes for Halloween were so perfect and my absolute favorite was obviously Barbie. I screamed at the top of my lungs when she came out as Barbie. She also added cute details for Halloween night, like covering the chandelier, the heart stage and the staircase bannisters all in cobwebs. She had a ghost descending from the ceiling, holding her microphone. She also renamed her tour that night to “Short N Spooky” with a cute red backdrop for photos. There were Halloween-y remixes added into her songs like screams and evil laughs and it was just so perfect. She encouraged all guests to wear Halloween costumes to the show as well and it was so perfect I had a California friend visiting that week so she went with us as Kpop Demon Hunters! It was a lot of fun putting this trio look together and we got a lot of love for it.
I was also really excited for the 2nd rendition of the tour because the setlist included 4 new songs and they were absolutely perfect. 1 song was from the Short N Sweet Deluxe album and the other 3 were from the new Man’s Best Friend album. Tears performed live is absolutely smoking with her making love to the camera before the dance break, and House Tour was so much fun with her set looking even more like a Barbie dreamhouse than before! I still love Juno but I found her poses for leg 2 of the tour to be tamer than what we’re used to, which is frankly a little disappointing. I prefer when they’re raunchy and cheeky. It’s just more fun that way because this show was never for kids anyway.
I wish she was doing more tours but honestly the girl deserves a break after the year she’s had working so much. I am definitely looking forward to seeing her role in a new Alice in Wonderland movie and hopefully more projects. I selfishly want more new music so hopefully she releases another album next year but until then, we just got Bruno Mar’s new album The Romantic and surprise surprise, we got tickets to his tour later this year…for LA! I’m usually not a concert person because I’m cheap and not willing to pay for concert tickets but luckily for me, I’m very picky as to what I’ll pay to go see. So far I’ve been very lucky with the ones I’ve chosen to go to so far because they’ve all been worth it. LOL, also the irony is not lost on me that I chose to go all the way to LA for Bruno Mar’s tour date instead of NY when I’m cheap about shelling out for concert tickets. I just wanted a reason to go back to LA and the concert was a good excuse. Besides, Bruno’s NY date isn’t really in NY - it’s in Jersey which sucks to travel to anyway so if I’m going to travel, let’s go somewhere fun and make a vacation out of it for the week. Now I have something fun to look forward to for birthday month again! It’s been coincidental that these concert dates keep around October but I’m not mad about it. Now I have to run along and brainstorm what outfit I want to wear to The Romantic Tour…
